Baptism
Take your next step in your journey with Jesus
What Is Baptism?
Baptism is a fundamental Christian practice where individuals publicly declare their new or significant change in their relationship with Jesus Christ. It involves being submerged in water, symbolizing the death of your old self and the washing away of past sins, and then being raised out of the water to signify your new life with Christ. This act has been a key aspect of the Christian faith since before the founding of the church, serving as a public profession of faith and a demonstration of your identification with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism is not for joining the local church but is an essential step of obedience and commitment to following Jesus, as instructed by Jesus in Matthew 28:19–20
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
