Intercessory Prayer
Prayer is an essential part of what we do here at the Vineyard and the foundation of our personal walk with God. Whether it's our individual prayer time or corporate prayer, it should always be a priority in our lives. There are many ways to pray as well as many different types of prayers. We would like to give many opportunities for people to find what works for them so that we can truly become a people of prayer. Below is a brief description of the various ways you may get involved in the intercession that goes on here at the Vineyard!
- Prayer Room: This is located in the office area. You may come anytime between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday through Friday and spend time praying. We encourage you to bring a friend along! In this room you'll find maps with names of people from this church that are now serving in other areas and would like our prayers. There is also a CD player so that you can bring worship music with you to enjoy, as well as other resources to aid in your intercession.
- Prayer Board: This is a whiteboard in the Prayer Room with current prayer needs (updated weekly). Some of the things that go on this board are: this week's church or building events, upcoming conferences, a Small Group member's upcoming surgery or serious health need, a death or hospital stay in the family of a member... any type of serious immediate need. Each week, one of the Vineyard's ministries is also featured.
- Small Groups: This is the place for individual needs. We pray for each other's needs during the group's Ministry Time and throughout the week. If you are not in a Small Group, we would encourage you to join one as this is where community is formed and most of the ministry of the church is done.
- Ministry Time: This is done weekly after every service. It is a time when you may come forward with any type of prayer request and people on our trained Ministry Team will pray for you.
- Saturday Morning Prayer: Every week from 9:30 until around 11 am at the church building. This is a time of drawing nearer to God and praying together for our church, city, nation, and world. (This is not a time for individual prayer needs.) All are welcome!
- Pre-Service Prayer: This happens every Sunday at 8 am before the service starts. Anyone may come pray with us for the upcoming service and for those we have sent out.
- Soaking Prayer: Every week during the 11am service there is 'soaking prayer' available in 20 - 30 minute sessions. Anyone desiring this should sign up for this at the information table in the lobby.
- Concert of Prayer: We do this twice a year. This is a time for corporate worship and intercession, where any request can be taken. All are welcome!
- Daily Prayer: Each day of the week, one or more Small Groups are assigned to pray for our church, its leadership, and its missionaries.
