What is Small Group?
Small groups here at the Vineyard usually are made up of about 8-12 people who meet in homes during the week for a time of worship, discussion about how Jesus’ teaching applies to our daily lives, and prayer. Small groups meet the first 3 weeks of the month, and last 1.5 to 2 hours.
Why go to a Small Group?
If you want to connect with a group of friends to enjoy life with, discover Jesus with, and change the world with, small groups are the place for you! Your life will never be the same again! See more about our vision for small groups below…
How do I Visit a Group?
Check out the information about the small groups. Small groups meet on several different days of the week in many areas of the Quad Cities, and all of them would love to have you visit! They are listed on the left by the days that they meet. You can call or email the small group leader to find out where they’re meeting next time, or if you would like some help with suggestions for a small group that might be a good fit for you, you can call our Assistant Pastor, Troy, at 563-322-3970, x105.
What is Our Vision for Small Groups?
“Building communities of people who are devoted to Christ, His Community, and His Cause.”
Christ
Above all else, our vision for small groups is to help everyone to encounter Jesus in a more personal and life transforming way. We do this by studying Scripture and experiencing Christ personally through worship, group prayer, and personal times of ministry. We believe that following Jesus and living in His Kingdom affects how we live every aspect of our lives, and we are striving to be more like Him in every way.
Community
Our vision for small group community is to build a group of friends who come together to grow in relationship with Jesus, work together to share the love of Jesus with our Cities, and have fun sharing life together. As we build community, we are always looking outward to welcome and invite new people so they can have the same experience that we do. As our small group grows, we are committed to training new leaders, helping everyone to participate in the health of the group, and planting a new small group to make space for others to experience community.
Cause
Our small group does not exist for us. Jesus has called us to Himself, and to His community for a purpose- to transform the world around us. We look for the ways that God is working around us in our friends, in our neighborhoods, in our church, and our cities to see what God is doing, and simply try to join Him. Small groups participate in Christ’s Cause by serving the church in shared ministry, dreaming and listening to God about how He wants to show His love to the community, and then the exciting part… actually doing the stuff!
So that’s what we’re up to… come join us!
